I'm having a tough time figuring out where to install and how to operate the dosbox config files. Would you mind giving a run down on where you installed the files and how you accessed them?

It's just a matter of using the DOSBox configuration file I link to in step 3 and changing those two parameters. Depending on your graphics card and CPU, you might have to play around with the settings a little. Then the next time you start up X-Com, it should just start up full-screen.

Ah, Dosbox! I wasted a chunk of time 12-18 months ago on that puppy, revisiting my misspent youth. Mostly, I discovered that I had largely hideous taste in video games - terrible Sierra ripoffs of good movies.

X-com was one I never tried, however. And for all that I like the old PC games I played in my youth, it's still a tough sell to dive into one where I have no built-in nostalgia factor... but perhaps the high ratins will convince me. One of these days when I have some free time, that is.
